Quantum Valley is planned to be the first productive Tech-hub and startup ecosystem for hightech innovation and scientific development.
Quantum Valley will be a center of excellence for innovation, creativity, science, and engineering researches and will bring professionals and experts from the African Diaspora to come together to reflect, understand, build and develop smart and sustainable solutions for the development of Africa. The goal is to create and instill an entrepreneurial spirit in the mind of the African and thereby prove to Africans that the wealth of Africa is not the mineral resources but “The Brain”
The aim of Quantum valley is to prove to the African that the wealth of Africa is not in the
mineral resources but rather, “The Brain”. The initiative is meant to leverage information and communication technologies to boost socioeconomic development through innovative digital solution and to accelerate the creation of quality jobs. As such the Quantum Valley is expected to support the ICT sector but also to offer catalytic support in other industries such as agriculture, health, education, livestock, farming, fishing and e-government administration. The Quantum valley will be very beneficial to the sustainability of the State of the African Diaspora establishment and through its involvement will showcase a great example of “strengthening Africa through the Diaspora and the Diaspora through Africa.
Entrepreneurship is an important driver of economic growth and job creation: it creates new companies and jobs, opens up new markets, improves productivity and creates wealth. An entrepreneurial mindset enhances a young person’s employability. Entrepreneurship and in particular Small and Medium Sized enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of the African economy and will represent the most important source of new
employment. Cultures that value and reward entrepreneurial behavior such as calculated risk taking and independent thinking, promote a propensity to develop new solutions to social challenges. Funds have been applied for from foreign investment banks and an answer is still awaited. Though the number of active tech hubs across Africa is growing steadily, rising from 314 in 2016 to 618 in 2019, with more due to launch, tech hubs and innovation spaces are at the heart of Africa’s technological and start-up revolution. Quantum Valley is designed to support start-ups and help them thrive and build entrepreneurial tech communities. QV is a place where one can dream the impossible dream. Pilot Country for the Quantum Valley will be located in Ondo state, Nigeria which is 56 km East
of Lagos, the economic center of Nigeria and right in front of the new oil and gas deposit discoveries and neighbor to Olokola Free Trade Zone. The land has already been acquired and the governor of Ondo state has given his approval.
