The Ouesso–Bangui–N’Djamena Multimodal Transport Corridor project aims to address critical regional infrastructure deficits by constructing a high-capacity road network linking Central Africa’s key transport hubs. By improving connectivity across the Republic of the Congo, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the Central African Republic (CAR), and Chad, the initiative serves as a core priority under the Consensus Master Plan for Transport in Central Africa (PDCAT) and aligns with the broader vision of establishing an integrated, secure, and economically resilient subregion.

Scope & Infrastructure

The project encompasses a total motorization and road development network spanning approximately 1,310 km, extending from Ouesso in northern Congo to Mbaïkoro in southern Chad via Bangui.

  • Section I: Ouesso – Bangui Section (~640 km), Traverses the southern equatorial forest zone through the Republic of the Congo and the Central African Republic.
  • Section II: Bangui – Mbaïkoro Section (~670 km), Extends through the northern savannah region within CAR and Southern Chad (near Moundou).

  • Unlock Landlocked Markets: Provide direct corridor connectivity for interior regions and countries to strategic trade hubs.
